They are boundaries - limits that all healthy human beings are subject to.
They are restraints - keeping us from moving to fast, high, or far without thinking about them
They are weaknesses - soft spots that the enemy uses to kill us
We are held to the physical principles of this world when we bow to our flesh. Life concrete wings, they keep us from flying.
III. Godly Life (Living After the Spirit)
Romans 8:1-14
This passage is not talking about OUR spirit, but GOD'S Spirit - The Holy Spirit!
In order to break through the limits of the flesh, we must defy the flesh with actions that result from following after God's Living Word as revealed through the Holy Spirit. We are inspired to do things that are against the laws of the flesh, pushing beyond the limits of this world.
- Fasting and Prayer
- Godly, agape love
- Humility and Meekness
- Vigilance and Focus
- Surrender
- Death of Self
- Leading of the Spirit
We become boundless - impossible to stop or hold back
We become free - able to move as God commands
We become strong - increasing in faith with every step and fulfilled promise of God
The physical world begins to have less power on us, changing around us, conforming to the spiritual effects of our actions.
We are actually LIVING the Living Word of God, not just believing it.
