Rather than trying to accomplish things in your life by your own strengh. Put God's word to the test and you will see the results.

*Isaiah 55: 8-11

I. Two comparisons; #1. (verses 8,9) "As the heavens are higher than the earth. So Gods ways are above our ways. And His thoughts above our thoughts".

In what ways are God's ways higher?

1. Man's way is the way of sight and senses. God's way is the way of faith.

2 Man plans for time. God plans for eternity.

3 Man is material and subject to conditions. God is Spiritual and cannot be limited.

4 The way of man is to look out for number one. God wants us to be concerned for all people.

5 Mans way is ordinary, therefore limited to the physical. God works in the supernatural therefore He can do for you what others can't.

*A doctor cannot make a tumor disappear, or cancer, or aids. God can.

6 Mans way to success is by stepping on others. God's way is through humility.

7 Man rules by force. God rules by love.

8 Man loves only if they love him back. God loves us even when we reject Him and we are to love the same way. Without conditions.

9 Man says; make a feast and invite all the influential people and you will have success. God says; Invite the poor, the lame and the outcast and you will have favor with God, (Luke 14: 12-14).

10 Mans way is to hold grudges and seek revenge. The satanic bible says; "If someone hurts you rip his face off". God's way is to put away all bitterness and forgive those who hurt you. "If someone slaps you on one cheek. Turn the other cheek", (Heb. 12:14).

11 Mans way is to take advantage of the weaknesses of others. God's way is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.


"Gods ways are above our ways. And His thoughts above our thoughts". And where do we learn of the ways of God if not in His word? If we want to have success we must do as God so plainly tells us in His word.


II. Comparison #2 is found in verses 10-11. "Rain and snow fall from the sky but they don't return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. That's how it is with my words. They don't return to me without doing everything I send them to do".

Psalm 135:7 says; "He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth and He makes lightning for the rain and He brings the wind out of His treasuries".

1. Just like rain and snow water the earth to make it fruitful. So will Gods word make us fruitful when we apply it to our lives.

2. God's word will accomplish its purpose when we apply it.

3. As rain causes germination and provides sustenance. So does Gods word do the same for us. Many are weak because they don't spend quality time in the word. Eating it and letting it nourish their spirit and their soul. "Man cannot live by bread alone".

4. The rain itself and the snow will not return in its form but the moisture returns and causes it to return again as rain and snow.

5. So does Gods word. "IT will never return void. But it will accomplish Gods perfect will for you and prosper you in everything".



III. God's word is absolutely trustworthy and sure. It never fails.

 Luke 21:33 says; the heavens and the earth shall pass away but His words shall not pass away".

1. God's word gives us hope. (Rom.15:4), "It was written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

2. It's a life giving force. It regenerates. (Phil. 2:16), "Holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain".

3. It gives light. (Psalm 119:130), "The entrance of your words give light; It gives understanding even to the simple". This is why David could say; "He makes me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me besides the still waters. He restores my soul: He leads me in the path of righteousness for His name's sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me", (Psalm 23).

4. It instructs us. (2 Tim. 3:16), "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and its profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness".

5. It produces faith. (Rom.10: 17), "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God".

6. It heals. (Psalm 107:20), "He sent His word and healed them".

7. It brings joy. (Jer.15:16)

8. It sets us free. (Look at verse 12), John 8:32 says; "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free". Only the word of God can set anybody free.
