a continuation of part I

2 Chronicles 29:1-2

#1) (verse 2) "AND HE(HEZEKIAH) DID THAT WHICH WAS RIGHT IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, ACCORDING TO ALL THAT HIS FOREFATHER DAVID HAD DONE".

* Hezekiah like his forefather david was a man after God's own heart in the sence that he wanted to do what was right. In today's society we need more men and women like Hezekiah that are willing to stand up for God and do what is right.

* In a time when most were going downstream he was going upstream like the salmon!!!. Most often Christians have to go against the flow to do what is right.


#2) He took a deplorable situation and turned it into something great;

1. He removed the high places, and broke down the images, and cut down the groves, and broke into pieces the brazen serpent that moses had made(2 Kings 18:4, discused in part I).

2. He also purified the temple where the presence of the Lord was manifested. But today God does not live in temples made of stone, this is only a meeting place. God says that now "WE ARE THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT"!!!

*If we truly whant to see a change in our home, in our communities, in our jobs, in our church, the temple must be cleansed of all filthiness(2 Chronicles 29:5,16).

3. He restored the ministries of the priests and the levites. Notice that it started with the leadership, THE CLEANSING HAS TO START WITH THE LEADERSHIP IN THE CHURCH !!!(notice that they started in; "THE INNER PART OF THE HOUSE OF THE LORD"(verse 16).

* Notice that it took them time to purify the temple(eight days,on verse 17). You too cant expect to clean up the mess that you have gotten yourself into by coming to one service on sunday. IT TAKES SPENDING LOTS OF TIME BEFORE GOD!!!. QUALITY TIME!!!.

4. He restored the temple worship(2 Chronicles 29:20-36). Because when we worship the focus is taken away from everything else that destracts us from putting our attention on Him.

5. He restored the passover celebration(2 Chronicles 30:5). It's about time for the church to celebrate the good things that the Lord has done, to many people consentrate on the negative, yet; GOD HAS SAVED!!!, GOD HAS RESTORED!!!, GOD HAS HEALED!!!, GOD HAS DELIVERED!!!, GOD IS B-L-E-S-S-I-N-G HIS PEOPLE!!!. GOD IS BLESSING THE CHURCH!!!.

6. He re-established the tithes and the offerings(chapter 31:2-10). When a person is truly commited to the Lord the results are generous giving to support His work. and giving results in praise to God and blessings for His people.


CONCLUSION:

The secret to Hezekiah's sucksess is given to us in 2 Kings 18:5;"HE TRUSTED IN THE LORD GOD OF ISRAEL". If we place our trust in God like Hezekiah did. We will get through any crisis. No matter how big the situation may be, GOD-WILL-GET-US- THROUGH!!!
