The today Church need's to kick into high gear and renew its mind as we prepare for the coming of the Lord.

*Romans 12:1-2 (look up)

There is a strugle within the Church today to be the kind of Church that Jesus is coming to receive to Himself.
Romans 12 spells out the nature of the strugle. We either conform to the world and its system or transform the mindset of the Church according to God's will.

[1] There is basically three types of churches;


1)The type that pays more attention to the external things and rituals of man than to the things of the heart. These are churches that have adopted the very things that Jesus critisized while He was on earth, pharaseeism and leagalism.

Jesus said that these people rather obey the laws of man than to obey God.

They pay more attention to how people dress or how they wear their hair than to the issues of the heart and the tongue. This is why Jesus critisized the pharasees and teachers of the law for charging the disciples for not washing their hands before eating. This was not a law of God but only a tradition of man.

By the same token they had broken God's command that said to honor father and mother(Matt.15:1-20).


Jesus said that they were blind men leading others that were also blind(Matt.15:12-14).


2) The second type is the Church is that has conformed itself to the world.

This church is into numbers. they rather preach what people want to hear.

They don't want to ofend any one. For this reason the word is watered down and they take a neutral stand on many of the tough issues.

They pretend to be in revival while the truth is that there is no conviction of sin because no one talks about the real issues. Everything is superficial.


3) The third type is God's kind of Church. A Church without spot or wrinkle.

A. A Glorious Church that wants to please God rather than pleasing the world.

B. A Church that makes a difference in the world. We are called to be salt and light.


[2]THREE STEPS MUST BE TAKEN TO BE THIS TYPE OF CHURCH;

1... Make a determination to do away with everything that hinders.

A. Divisions. Denominations can't agree on the simplest things. We have white churches, spanish churches, black churches, etc. but God says that He is comming for one church. That Church will have people from every tongue and nation, every color and race. And there will be no divisions because of denomination or anything else.

B. Inconsistency. many times there is a gapp between what Christians say and do. It must not be so.

c. inability. We have the God given power to do away with moral darkness but many times we fail to use it.

D. Isolation. We get isolated to a building,or a program, or a place, or a space of time. God need's a Church that is ready and one that will not set limits on Him.

E. Lack of reverance. We need more hunger for God's word, His presence, more hunger for the work of the ministry.


LORD, RENEW THE MINDSET OF THE CHURCH !!!


2... Remember that Jesus is the Lord of the Church.

The word of God proclaims the victory of the Church;

**(Mtt.16:18)"THE GATES OF HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST THE CHURCH".

**(Mtt.18:20)"WHERE TWO OR THREE ARE GATHERED TOGETHER IN MY NAME THERE AM I IN THE MIDST OF THEM".

**(Rev.3:20)"BEHOLD, I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK, IF ANY MAN HEARS MY VOICE AND OPENS THE DOOR, I WILL COME IN TO HIM AND SUP WITH HIM AND HE WITH ME".

3... Remember that the time is short.
