Matthew 7:9-11
?"Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? ?10? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? ?11? If you then, ?being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"
Four things that fathers can only get away with saying on father's day;
#1 To the wives whenever possible please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
#2. When ever we ask a question You don't have to give us the whole story. "Yes" and "No" are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
#3 Wives, your husband says; "Please check the oil in your car at least once in a while".
#4. We know exactly where we are. Therefore what makes you think we need directions?
IF YOU ARE A FATHER THERE ARE GOOD GIFTS THAT YOU CAN GIVE TO YOUR CHILDREN THAT ARE NOT NECESARILY WRAPPED IN NICE PAPER WITH NICE RIBBON IN THE MIDDLE;
F.A.T.H.E.R;
1. F stands for faith.
Faith is twofold.
If a father has faith in God and His word and in everything seeks to obey Him. His children will most likely put their confidence in God when they are older.
One of the best gifts a father can give is putting your faith in your children. Believing in them.
2. A stands for acceptance. Accept your children for who they are and speak positive words into their lives.
3. T stands for time.
-The best gift that fathers can give to their children is time.
4. H stands for help. "MY HELP COMES FROM THE LORD, WHO MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH",(Psalm 121:2). The Lord is the greatest helper that any person can have and He will help our children through us if we let Him do it. We can help by sharing God's wisdom with them or simply by pointing them in the right direction.
5. E stands for encouragement.
-Each father needs to be the greatest cheerleader that his children will ever have.
Encourage your children to set good goals for their lives and rejoice in every achievement.
6. R stands for rock and reverent example.
-A father has to be a source of strengh to his family and a defense in times of struggle.
-Fathers should teach their children to have reverence for God, womenhood, life, and morality.
